Estate Planning | Probate | Tax Law

As the founder and managing shareholder of Staab Law, P.A., Matthew Staab serves clients throughout Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Collier Counties, with offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Naples, FL. With more than two decades of experience in estate planning, probate, tax law, and asset protection, he provides strategic legal counsel tailored to individuals, families, and businesses looking to protect their wealth and navigate complex legal matters. His expertise includes foundational and advanced estate planning, probate and trust administration, wealth preservation, probate litigation, and tax-efficient asset structuring.

A graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, he earned his LL.M. in Taxation (2004) from a program consistently ranked among the top three in the nation. His deep understanding of tax strategies allows him to develop comprehensive estate plans that minimize tax burdens and maximize financial security. Licensed to practice in Florida, New York, Vermont, and Washington, D.C., Matthew assists clients with multi-jurisdictional estate planning and probate/trust matters.

Known for his clear communication and personalized approach, Matthew ensures that clients are guided through the estate planning and probate process with care and attention to detail. Every client’s situation is unique, and Matthew takes the time to craft customized solutions that bring security and peace of mind. Through a client-centered approach and a commitment to excellence, he helps families navigate complex legal matters while ensuring they receive the guidance necessary to shape their futures and protect their legacies.

Estate planning is a deeply personal and sometimes difficult process, but Matthew’s ability to provide steady guidance during challenging moments and a warm, approachable presence helps put clients at ease. While he takes his role seriously, he also believes that a little lightheartedness can make the process feel less overwhelming. His goal is to ensure clients not only feel heard and supported but also leave each conversation with greater clarity—and feeling a little lighter.

Personal

Born in Montpelier, Vermont, Matthew has called South Florida home since 1994, when he chased the love of his life—now his wife of 27 years—to Miami.  Warm beaches became home, but the Green Mountains still have a hold on him.  He frequently returns to Vermont with his family, embracing his dual identity as half Vermonter, half Floridian. Now settled in Weston, Florida, Matthew and his wife have three children. When he’s not advising clients on estate planning, he splits his time between soaking up the Florida sun and enjoying Vermont’s mountains, proving that you can, in fact, love both the beach and the snow.
